The 2017 NFL season kicks off tonight with the hated Kansas City Chiefs traveling to Foxborough, Massachusetts to take on the also hated New England Patriots. It’s in poor form to root for something bad to befall both teams so we will just hope the Patriots beat the Chiefs so badly that they give up on the season altogether and leave us with one fewer team in the AFC West to worry about.
More seriously, the Patriots have as real a chance as any team in recent memory of chasing a perfect 16-0 again this season and we should get a good look at just how plausible that is when they play the Chiefs tonight. Some are picking the Chiefs to win the AFC West again and if they are able to hang tough with the Patriots or even somehow win this game that would go a long way toward convincing the non-believers like me.
