The wait is over ladies and gentleman, #jerseywatch has come to an end. After months of deliberation. Chargers first round pick Mike Williams has decided on the number he will don with his lightning bolts. The former Clemson star tweeted out that he will wear #81 for the Chargers.
New movement #81

Mike Williams has mentioned before that he looked up to former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who wore #81 himself. Perhaps Johnson was an influence in Williams decision to go with the same number.

Mike Dubs isn't the only Charger rocking a new number these days, as the team announced a handful of other number changes as well.
A few more number updates...

3️⃣0️⃣ Austin Ekeler
7️⃣8️⃣ Michael Schofield
2️⃣4️⃣ Trevor Williams
2️⃣7️⃣ Jeff Richards
Preseason rookie phenom Desmond King is trading in his #36 for sleeker looking #20. Cornerback Trevor Williams swapped in his #42 from last season in exchange for #24, while undrafted rookie Austin Ekeler added a “0” to the #3 he wore in throughout preseason and training camp.
So the takeaway here is if you've been waiting to buy a jersey of one of these players, it’s probably safe to do so now without worrying that it’ll be out of date in a few weeks.
