PODCAST: An early must win game for the Los Angeles Chargers

A sense of early dread is hanging over Sunday’s game against the Chiefs and Chargers

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

I am concerned for the Los Angeles Chargers’ playoff hopes. Surprise, surprise.

With the Kansas City Chiefs as the only thing standing in between the Chargers being 0-3 with an 0-2 record against an AFC West that looks very strong, I’m already concerned about this season spinning out of control.

With a tough upcoming schedule, the Chargers could find themselves 0-8 or 1-7 a few weeks from now, which is not the start that anyone envisioned for the Anthony Lynn era.

But, back to Sunday’s game. The Chiefs have what could be the perfect offense to go up against this L.A. defense, and their defense seems very well suited to slow down the pass-heavy Chargers offense (that might be without Melvin Gordon).

This could be terrible.

For those that are interested, I also did a podcast early this morning with Craig Elsten, in which we discussed the rumors swirling around about the other NFL owners wanting the Chargers to return to San Diego...

Thanks for listening!
