PODCAST: Upcoming schedule could bury the Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers will have an incredibly difficult climb to try and get back to respectability by the halfway point of the 2017 NFL season.

What a mess this Los Angeles Chargers team is already facing. They’re 0-2 and here are what their next six weeks look like....

Kill me.

What’s a realistic best case scenario here? For my money, it’s probably the Chargers at 2-6 halfway through the season. That’s probably not what John Spanos, Dean Spanos, and Tom Telesco had in mind when they made the decisions to fire Mike McCoy and John Pagano and replace them with Anthony Lynn and Gus Bradley.

Even worse than all of that might be Ken Whisenhunt, who somehow forgot about Melvin Gordon when the Chargers held the lead for most of yesterday’s game. He might be the most responsible person for the team starting off their StubHub Center era with another embarrassing loss.

This was the first of three consecutive home games for the Chargers, which is just about the only thing the team can hang their hat on. They’ll need to make hay now with a quick turnaround if they want to keep the season from quickly going down the drain.
