After last weekend, it seemed like everyone had at least one “for sure” player that phoned-in their opening day performance.
For me, that was Le’Veon Bell.
Some watched their superstars ride the pine (Beckham owners).
Some watched them get carted off the field (my condolences to David Johnson owners).
In all, some things went well, and some things went horribly, horribly wrong. But such is life for a Fantasy Footballer.
Here is to a new, fresh week in Fantasy Football. Cheers!
BFTB Fantasy Football League Week 2 Match-ups:
mY BaLl ZaCh ErTz (Michael Peterson)
QB: Dak Prescott
WR: Doug Baldwin
WR: Michael Crabtree
WR: Adam Thielen
RB: Le’Veon Bell
RB: Ezekiel Elliott
TE: Greg Olson
W/R/T: Shane Vereen
Q/W/R/T: Derek Carr

Sam Kweon’s Tweets! (Lou)
QB: Tom Brady
WR: AJ Green
WR: Deandre Hopkins
WR: Brandon Marshall
RB: Dalvin Cook
RB: Mark Ingram
TE: Martellus Bennett
W/R/T: Kareem Hunt
Q/W/R/T: Kirk Cousins
DEF: Baltimore
K: Will Lutz
Highlights: After last week’s performances, I like my receivers a bit more in this match-up. Green and Hopkins are struggling due to their team’s QB play while Thielen is coming off a very good week. He plays a much sturdier defense this week, but I believe Crabtree and Baldwin are consistent enough to bring it home for me. Running backs, once again, are in my favor.
I give the quarterback nod to Lou as he boasts Brady and Cousins, who I believe will have a bounce-back week after a lackluster game against the Eagles.
Prediction: Me by a narrow margin
Mud Dogs (Richard)
QB: Aaron Rodgers
WR: Demaryius Thomas
WR: Larry Fitzgerald
WR: Alshon Jeffrey
RB: James White
RB: Jacquizz Rodgers
TE: Charles Clay
W/R/T: Stefon Diggs
Q/W/R/T: Drew Brees
DEF: Cincinnati
K: Graham Gano

Trips Right (Ruben)
QB: Cam Newton
WR: Amari Cooper
WR: Dez Bryant
WR: Eric Decker
RB: Adrian Peterson
RB: Javorius Allen
TE: Jimmy Graham
W/R/T: Cooper Kupp
Q/W/R/T: Philip Rivers
DEF: Los Angeles Chargers
K: Brandon McManus
Highlights: Richard’s team, once again, is looking pretty good. He has weapons across all position groups and is rocking two new backs in James White and Jacquizz Rodgers this week.
I will give Ruben the benefit of the doubt in the defensive department, but that’s about it. I like the Chargers to be a bit sturdier after a poor showing in Denver last Monday.
Prediction: The Rich(ard) Get Rich(ard)-er
No Punt Intended (Cody)
QB: Marcus Mariota
WR: Julio Jones
WR: Brandin Cooks
WR: Golden Tate
RB: Ameer Abdullah
RB: LeGarrette Blount
TE: Hunter Henry
W/R/T: Corey Davis
Q/W/R/T: Carson Wentz
DEF: Arizona
K: Matt Prater
V.S.
Sans Diego (Jason)
QB: Carson Palmer
WR: Sammy Watkins
WR: Michael Thomas
WR: Desean Jackson
RB: LeSean McCoy
RB: Todd Gurley
TE: Delanie Walker
W/R/T: Mike Gillislee
Q/W/R/T: Coby Fleener
DEF: Seattle
K: Mason Crosby
Highlights: Right off the bat, I give wide receivers to Cody and running backs to Jason.
Jason’s TE slot gives me much more confidence at this point following a zero target outing for Henry against Denver.
The Superflex spot will always go to the man who plays a second quarterback, and that goes to Cody. I have much more faith in any quarterback over Coby Fleener, no matter who is throwing to him.
Prediction: My gut says Jason on this one. Those running backs are dangerous and will makeup for any lackluster play from guys like Palmer and Watkins.
Go Bears! (Max)
QB: Russell Wilson
WR: Keenan Allen
WR: Devante Parker
WR: Kelvin Benjamin
RB: Marshawn Lynch
RB: Christian McCaffrey
TE: Julius Thomas
W/R/T: Ty Montgomery
Q/W/R/T: Eli Manning
DEF: Jacksonville
K: Giorgio Tavecchio
V.S.
Chargers_UK (Thomas)
QB: Andrew Luck
WR: Odell Beckham Jr.
WR: Davante Adams
WR: Jeremy Maclin
RB: Demarco Murray
RB: Isaiah Crowell
TE: Jordan Reed
W/R/T: CJ Anderson
Q/W/R/T: Kenny Britt
DEF: Kansas City
K: Stephen Gostkowski
Highlights: Well, it looks like Thomas doesn’t care about success or this match-up whatsoever if he plans on leaving two players who won’t play this week in his lineup.
I like Thomas’ TE slot with Reed over Max’s, but everything else heavily favors Max. It’s not going to be close.
Prediction: Max. Thomas doesn’t like to look at his lineup before game day, apparently.
Azor Ajayi (Daniel)
QB: Ben Roethlisberger
WR: Terrelle Pryor
WR: Nelson Agholor
WR: Robert Woods
RB: Melvin Gordon
RB: Jay Ajayi
TE: Travis Kelce
W/R/T: Tarik Cohen
Q/W/R/T: Randall Cobb
DEF: Denver
K: Matt Bryant
V.S.
Cry Me a Rivers (Aaron)
QB: Matthew Stafford
WR: Emmanuel Sanders
WR: Corey Coleman
WR: Martavis Bryant
RB: Devonta Freeman
RB: Jordan Howard
TE: Kyle Rudolph
W/R/T: Lamar Miller
Q/W/R/T: Joe Flacco
DEF: Houston
K: Dan Bailey
Highlights: Quarterbacks are a wash. Receivers are a wash. I’m actually going to go with Daniel in the running back department in this match-up. I like the workloads that Gordon and Ajayi will receive. I’ve also never been partial on Lamar Miller, and Jordan Howard will lose some action to Cohen after last week.
Gimme Denver’s defense over Houston, as well.
Prediction: Daaaaaaaaaaaamn Daniel. Back at it again with the victory.
Free OJ with Brunch (Roger)
QB: Matt Ryan
WR: Jordy Nelson
WR: Tyreek Hill
WR: Jarvis Landry
RB: Bilal Powell
RB: Chris Carson
TE: Rob Gronkowski
W/R/T: Mike Evans
Q/W/R/T: Trevor Siemian
DEF: Carolina
K: Blair Walsh
V.S.
Backroad Bullies (Derrick)
QB: Jameis Winston
WR: Antonio Brown
WR: TY Hilton
WR: Tyrell Williams
RB: Leonard Fournette
RB: Charcandrick West
TE: Zach Ertz
W/R/T: Mohamed Sanu
Q/W/R/T: Sam Bradford
DEF: Atlanta
K: Justin Tucker
Highlights: I really like Roger’s onslaught of wide receivers with Evans, Landry, Hill, and Nelson. I think that will be hard to overcome. Even with the reigning MVP, I like Derrick’s duo of quarterbacks going into this week. I don’t think Siemian replicates his performance while I do have faith in Bradford to get somewhere close. Gronk wins in the battle of tight ends. Running backs are fairly poor on both sides, but I will give the nod to Derrick as he at least as one bell-cow back on his roster.
Predictions: Really close call but I can’t bet against Roger and all his receivers. Roger with the win.
