SNF Open Thread: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

NFC East Rivals face off on Sunday Night Football of opening week.

NFL: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham will be a game time decision and even if he plays against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football he will be limited. Eli Manning will be forced to rely on Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram, Shane Vereen, and Paul Perkins in this one. Dallas has a rather weak defense, though, so that could theoretically be enough.

Unfortunately for the Giants, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense will have Ezekiel Elliott for at least this week if not the whole season. He adds an element to an already powerful offense featuring Dez Bryant and Jason Witten that should be able to outscore the Giants despite their much-improved defense. The Giants took a huge leap forward last season on that side of the ball and it is rare for a defense to maintain that level of improvement year over year so they are due for some regression.
