PODCAST: Should the Los Angeles Chargers sign Joe Haden?

New, comments

As worrisome as the Chargers’ depth may be at cornerback, recently-released Joe Haden probably isn’t interesting in the Chargers and they probably shouldn’t be interested in him.

NFL: New York Jets at Cleveland Browns Scott R. Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

My first thought when I heard that the Cleveland Browns had released former Pro Bowl CB Joe Haden was “I love Joe Haden! And I’m terrified of Craig Mager getting on the field if Jason Verrett gets injured! The Los Angeles Chargers should try to sign Joe Haden!”

My second thought was “I should podcast about this!” There probably should’ve been a thought in between about doing research and then double-checking that research because the beginning of this podcast is all about how the team should absolutely sign Joe Haden until i find that some of my info is wrong and it completely changes to “Never mind, the Chargers should not sign Joe Haden.”

If you’re the type that enjoys listening to me argue with myself, this podcast is for you.

Other things I discussed include why the 4th preseason game is a waste of time and money, and why the NFL won’t be getting rid of it any time soon (HINT: $$$$$).

I also talked about the historically low ratings for the Chargers’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, which is the first piece of information coming out of L.A. that has me legitimately concerned about the market’s viability.
