The last few years have not been good to the Chargers on the injury front. This has been especially true along the offensive line and among the cornerbacks. Perhaps things are ready to turn around slightly because today we have good news. Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports via Twitter:
Looks like CB Casey Hayward, RT Joe Barksdale on track to play in week 1 - both practiced today— Dan Woike (@DanWoikeSports) August 29, 2017
Starting cornerback Casey Hayward and starting right tackle Joe Barksdale should be good to go when the Los Angels Chargers face off against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in week 1 of the NFL regular season. Both will be badly needed against the division rival as Philip Rivers does not need a backup tackle blocking Von Miller and nobody wants to see Demaryius Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders lined up against anyone not named Verrett or Hayward on the outside.
What do you think? Is this the year the Chargers finally stay healthy and aren’t undone by their lacking depth?
