All Los Angeles Chargers Draft Picks Are Now Signed

With Indiana offensive lineman Dan Feeney signing yesterday, the Los Angeles Chargers now have all seven of their 2017 NFL Draft picks under contract. That we can say this in the first week of June is a substantial relief after what we experienced last Summer with the Joey Bosa standoff.

That the Chargers front office managed to get everyone signed well before training camp is especially important given that they are likely hoping their first three picks will push to start the season as starters. Ensuring that none of Mike Williams, Forrest Lamp, or Dan Feeney miss time due to contractual disputes was key to having any chance of fixing last year’s offense which finished 15th in DVOA (and an even worse 24th in Weighted DVOA). Tom Telesco and the front office have now given Anthony Lynn and the coaching staff a chance to succeed this year. Now, we just wait to see what they can do with that chance.

The Chargers 2017 draft class for reference:

R1P7 Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
R2P38 Forrest Lamp, OL, Western Kentucky
R3P71 Dan Feeney, OL, Indiana
R4P113 Rayshawn Jenkins, S, Miami
R5P151 Desmond King, DB, Iowa
R6P190 Sam Tevi, OL, Utah
R7P225 Isaac Rochell, DL, Notre Dame
