The Los Angeles Chargers announced today that they have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with their star pass rusher Melvin Ingram. The veteran edge defender had been staying away from organized team activities as his agent worked with the Chargers front office to make this deal.

This is a rather huge announcement. People had already started talking about how Melvin Ingram was likely to sit out parts of training camp and how he might end up playing through the regular season on the Franchise Tag. To have their #2 pass rusher locked up for the next four seasons makes everything else the Chargers have to do from a roster building perspective easier. Finding guys that can plug in behind the likes of Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram is significantly less difficult than replacing those guys.
What do you think? Are you excited by this news?
