While in prison, ex-Chargers QB Ryan Leaf found a purpose - Eric Williams
“My fiancée, she thought of it,” Leaf said about his son’s name. “And I just looked at her and said, ‘Are you serious? You want to call our boy MacGyver? -- Yes! Yes! Yes!’ She likes it because we can call him Mick. We can call him Mac. We can call him Guy. There’s a bunch of nicknames that can be there. But he’s going to be a big boy, I know that.

Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman Has Core Muscle Surgery - Ben Levine
Fortunately for Los Angeles, the team has plenty of depth at wide receiver, so they should be able to make up for Inman’s absence if he’s out longer than expected. With Keenan Allen and rookie Mike Williams presumably atop the depth chart, Inman will be competing with Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin to be the team’s third receiver.

Inman likely to miss 6 weeks after surgery - Sam McGaw
Inman ran a team-high 357 routes from the slot last season. Despite the volume, he managed just 22 slot receptions for 343 yards and two touchdowns.

Pair of Rookies Reunite Under Unlikely Circumstances - Hayley Elwood
“This whole process is big and there are a lot of things that I could be thinking about and should be thinking about,” Paige said. “But the first huddle I was in, I was right across from Dan. It was a comfort. I said, ‘What’s up Dan?’ and got ‘What’s up M.P.?’ back. And then I was good to go just like old times, It was football again. It’s awesome to have him here.”

Evaluating the Defense with DC Gus Bradley - Ricky Henne
You see offenses; their whole objective is to be precise in what they do. Defensively it’s no different. So, when we are installing a new defense, it’s how fast can we get precise not only in the techniques, but the communication, too. Communication is so big in games, whether it takes place prior to the snap or after. So, we really want to try to get that done but also (establish) a mindset, too. We want to be a ball-hawking defense. Instilling a mindset that every play we call is designed to get the ball away is what we are looking to do.

Geremy Davis Looking to Emerge in Loaded WR Corps - RIcky Henne
“As a wide receiver you’ve got to be greedy and want the ball,” he said. “Obviously you want to show the talent that you have. That you can make plays and catch the ball as well. So I can only control what I can control, and that is when the ball is thrown my way, make a play and show what I can do. If they don’t throw it, at least show that I am getting open. When someone else catches it, do my part to help make it an even bigger play.”
