Some bad news out of Chargers Park today, where the Los Angeles Chargers’ already thin defensive secondary lost another player...
Chargers CB Casey Hayward left practice early w/ "tweaked" ankle. Anthony Lynn was optimistic: "He just slipped. Casey’s going to be fine."

Whew.
Expect Casey Hayward to sit out a few days, maybe the rest of Mini Camp, because there’s really no reason to press it at this time.
However, after releasing Brandon Flowers, this is a good reminder of just how woefully thin the Chargers currently are at Cornerback. As the roster stands now, the team is probably one injury away from Craig Mager or Trevor Williams starting on the outside and somebody whose name you know even less than those two starting at Nickel CB.
Seriously, look at the Cornerbacks on this roster...

Each year I tend to focus in on one position on the Chargers’ roster that is doomed for failure. With Hayward and the oft-injured Jason Verrett being the only trustworthy Cornerbacks on the roster, this is an early candidate for doom.
