Should San Diego Fans Be Upset About the Chargers’ Gift to LA Season Ticket Holders?

The Chargers gifted their season ticket holders with an expensive Philip Rivers jersey. Should former season ticket holders be upset?

NFL: Super Bowl LI-NFL Experience Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers are working to ingratiate themselves into the community and into the hearts of NFL fans in Southern California after breaking hearts in San Diego just a couple of months ago.

They’ve eaten hot dogs at Pink’s, run in L.A. marathons, gone to Clippers games, and now they’re spending some cash to thank their season ticket holders and gifting them with a Philip Rivers’ powder blue game jersey.

Darren Smith and Marty Caswell talked about it today and were offended on behalf of the San Diego Chargers season ticket holders that didn’t receive the same level of thanks.

I want to add my two cents in here, and touch on something I haven’t seen anyone mention yet:

The Los Angeles Chargers will never ever change their primary color from “Chargers blue” (which is basically navy blue) to powder blue, but in their first real interaction with their new fanbase they reach out and gift them with....a powder blue jersey.
