Los Angeles Chargers Sign Damion Square to a 2-Year Deal

The Chargers re-signed some key depth along their defensive line.

Today the Los Angeles Chargers announced that they agreed to terms with defensive lineman Damion Square. While more of a rotation player than a starting caliber lineman, Square was and will in all likelihood remain a valuable contributor to the Chargers defense that ranked in the top half of the league last season.

The Chargers tweeted the news of their agreement with Square earlier today:

No doubt some are still going to clamor for a bigger name or bigger impact signing, but retaining players of Square’s caliber is something that team's need to do to remain (or in the Chargers’ case become) competitive. It will be interesting to see where exactly Square fits in in Gus Bradley’s defense which will be noticeably different from John Pagano’s had been during Square’s career thus far.

Tell us what you think of this signing in the comments. Are you happy to have Square back in the fold?
