Tomorrow the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. The game will feature the #1 scoring offense facing the #1 scoring defense, however, the Patriots being the #1 scoring defense is somewhat misleading as to just how good they were. A lot of their success in keeping opposing offenses out of the end zone comes from the fact that their offense was the second best in all of professional football behind only the Falcons. And, in fact, the Patriots had the best offense in the NFL after Tom Brady returned from his suspension.

The Falcons defense improved over the course of the season as you’d expect from such a young unit, but they are not as good as the Patriots defense. That said, they are fully capable of making game-altering plays thanks to their talent and speed. This should be a fascinating game to watch.
