The Chargers will be facing the New York Jets today missing a number of their starters

It was announced that Perryman would be out early in the week so this isn’t a surprise. What is interesting, however, is per Ricky Henne with chargers.com Korey Toomer will be starting in his place. I know personally I expected this would result in Hayes Pullard getting the start, curious how the snap count will end up here.

Corey Liuget also was announced to be out as the week began, and as occured previously Darius Philon will be filling in behind him. Philon has looked pretty good this year when being rotated in and while starting for Liuget so I don’t expect anything different today.

Left Tackle Russell Okung will be out with what is labeled a groin injury. After not participating until being limited on Friday this isn’t too big of a surprise either but it is a concern. Filling in for him is rookie Sam Tevi. He has seen some playing time behind Okung a few times this year but a start in a must-win game is a lot to ask of the young man. This will be a focal point while watching this game for me.

Right Tackle Joe Barksdale is going to play today even though he, like Okung, was only a limited participant on Friday’s practice. He’s been ailing with a hip injury and should he be unable to finish the game we should expect to see MIchael Schofield fill in as needed.

As for the Jets...

Wilkerson is a healthy scratch for the Jets. It would appear his time with the Jets is coming to an end in a less than ceremonious manner... His absence will be beneficial to an ailing Chargers offensive line.
