BFTB Fantasy Football League: Semifinals Results and Championship Match-up Preview

Richard, Lou, Daniel, and Jason found the promised land, but who took one step closer to the trophy? Find out here!

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

So first and foremost, my utmost apologies to the readers who were in any way invested and looked forward to this article each week. I let you guys down and hope the several weeks-long cliffhanger didn’t eat at you too much.

But I’m sure we all know what it’s like to have the light of excitement vanish once we realize our fantasy squad isn’t making it into the playoffs. This, to a point, is what happened to me.

(I lost 8 straight to end the year..can you blame me?)

Regardless, I am back to cap off the final two weeks of the fantasy season and make sure the winner of the BFTB Fantasy League gets the recognition he deserves. As of last week, our final four teams that made the playoffs were Mud Dogs (Richard), Sans Diego (Jason), Sam Kweon’s tweets! (Lou), and Azor Ajayi (Daniel).

These are the results of the semifinal match-ups:

1 - Sam Kweon’s Tweets! - 176.86
4 - Sans Diego - 123.22

2 - Mud Dogs - 127.92
3 - Azor Ajayi - 167.10

This means our Championship Round Match-up pits Sam Kweon’s Tweets!, our #1 squad for 99% of the season, against Azor Ajayi, a darkhorse contender that has had the hot hand since midseason.

Heading into the weekend, these are the current lineups for each player:

Sam Kweon’s Tweets!

QB - Kirk Cousins
WR - A.J. Green
WR - DeAndre Hopkins
WR - Marvin Jones Jr.
RB - Mark Ingram
RB - Kareem Hunt
TE - Eric Ebron
W/R/T - Latavius Murray
Q/W/R/T - Tom Brady
K - Will Lutz
DEF - Denver

Azor Ajayi

QB - Ben Roethlisberger
WR - Robert Woods
WR - Mike Wallace
WR - Keelan Cole
RB - Alvin Kamara
RB - Melvin Gordon
TE - Travis Kelce
W/R/T - Jay Ajayi
Q/W/R/T - Jameis Winston
K - Phil Dawson
DEF - New Orleans

At face-value, Lou and his squad look like they should run away with this championship. On the other hand, Daniel has some players who have really come into their own within the last several weeks and if that streak continues, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one come down to the wire.

It’s all going down on the jolliest weekend of the year.

Who will get to open up that L on Christmas Day? Who will unwrap the sweetest gift of all?

Check back next weekend to find out!!!
