NFL Playoff Picture: Updated seeds after Week 15 - Kevin Seifert
The Chargers need help from the Ravens or Bills -- or the Chiefs -- if L.A. is going to make the playoffs. Winning on Saturday in Kansas City might have been their best chance, but that didn't happen.
Antonio Gates shows patience in reduced role - Eric Williams
“I wasn’t sure how they were going to play it, and I always try and make everything look the same,” Gates said. “I was playing against a guy in Johnson that’s pretty smart, so it’s a chess match. I made it look like it was my normal pivot, and that’s why you could see the separation and by that time it was too late.”
Chargers' Corey Liuget Suffers PCL Injury - Greg Goldstein
On the same day the Chargers learned that running back Austin Ekeler would be out for the season, the team now has to deal with another injury on the defensive side of the ball. Defensive lineman Corey Liuget is now considered to be out with a “week-to-week” injury after suffering a grade 2 PCL sprain in last night’s game vs. the Chiefs, a source tells Ian Rapoport of NFL.com
Refocused: Kansas City Chiefs 30, Los Angeles Chargers 13 - PFF Analysis Team
Okung was the only Chargers offensive linemen out of the seven who played that did not finish with a below-average grade. Okung, who left after 40 snaps due to a reported groin injury, was perfect in pass protection up until that point. His replacement, Sam Tevi, got called for two penalties, including a holding call that nullified the pressure the had allowed.
Chargers' metrics show why it's better to be lucky and good - Seth Walder
But have the Chargers been unlucky overall this year? It's hard to say -- plenty of teams miss plenty of field goals, and plenty of fluky occurrences happen across the league on a weekly basis -- but the answer is: probably at least a little bit. Given the level at which they've played this season, the Chargers probably ought to have a better record than they do.
Chargers DB Desmond King shows flashes of Ronde Barber - Eric Williams
“He’s by far one of the best nickel corner players probably in history,” King said. “That’s a guy that we talk about a lot in our position room. Milus always tells me that we want you to play like Ronde Barber. He’s mastered this position.”
