The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday that they’ve signed C Max Tuerk off of the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad and placed C Daniel Munyer on injured reserve.
This was set in motion a month ago when the Chargers waived Max Tuerk, who has just returned from a PED suspension.
Tuerk was the Chargers’ 3rd round draft pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, dropping to that spot after suffering a torn ACL at USC, and was thought to be a steal that could end up starting for the team at Center in 2017 and beyond. Unfortunately, that’s not how it went and now Tuerk is either a bust or lost to another NFL team.
While the Chargers have shown a propensity to go searching for potential offensive line gold in the early-to-middle rounds of recent drafts, Tom Telesco’s vision of a future with Forrest Lamp, Max Tuerk, and Dan Feeney in front of the QB doesn’t appear like it will come true.
