Philip Rivers blasts Giants for handling of fellow QB Eli Manning - Eric Williams
"I honestly thought it was pathetic," Rivers said Wednesday. "He's been out there 210 straight games -- with no telling how many bumps and bruises and injuries -- for his team. He won two Super Bowl MVPs. And with the respect he's had in the locker room over the years, and really the respect he's gained throughout the league, you feel like the guy has earned the opportunity -- if they are in fact deciding to go another direction -- he's earned the opportunity to finish it off these last five weeks."
WR Keenan Allen ignites Chargers offense from the slot - Eric Williams
“He’s moved around to all different spots,” Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt said. “You always notice him when the ball goes to him a little bit more, but he had a good day and did a really nice job. He’s a fabulous player, and it was good to see him get on a roll like that.”
Mailbag: What are the Playoff Tiebreakers? - Ricky Henne
Incomplete. But then again, I would rate the 2016 Draft Class headlined by Joey Bosa and Hunter Henry as incomplete as well. I firmly believe you can’t truly grade a draft class until three years have passed, so perhaps I should save this question to answer in November of 2019.
FANTASY PLAYS: Make the playoffs with these starts and sits - Joe Gallina
Rivers has seven TDs and one interception in his last three games. He’s averaged 340 passing yards, thrown five TDs and just one interception in his last two games against the Browns. The Browns have given up the second most points per game this season.
NFL War Room: AFC playoffs, sports fights - Jay Busbee
I’ll take the Los Angeles Chargers. They have a favorable schedule down the stretch which could give them some momentum heading into the playoffs. I could see them pulling an upset off in Pittsburgh as their offense is clicking and their defense is very underrated. Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram are about as good a pair of pass rushers in the NFL and could win a game themselves if needed.
