Philip Rivers has been nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week for his performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. This was possibly the best performance Rivers put together in his entire career. Certainly top 3.
Rivers’ stat line for the game shows he had 33 pass attempts and completed 27 of them for a whopping 81.8% completions which netted him 434 yards passing and 3 Touchdowns.
Rivers was damn near perfect. He was not just hitting wide open receivers, he was throwing guys open. His placement was spot on all game and his receivers payed him back by coming down with almost every catchable ball he threw.
El Capitan was standing tall in the pocket, despite pretty strong pressure from the Dallas front 7. He was making good reads, he made correct calls at the line, and just went out and dominated the Cowboys defense all day.
It was the first time in his career that he’s passed for over 425 yards and the Chargers have won the game.
Head over and vote for Rivers now!
