The Los Angeles Chargers (3-6) are still technically alive and in the playoff hunt. In order to stay that way, they will need to find a way to win today as they play host to the Buffalo Bills (5-4). Luckily for the Chargers, the Bills despite being 5-4 have opted to bench their starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor for rookie Nathan Peterman who will be making his first career start today.
Peterman will receive a rude welcome to the NFL as he will face one of the best pass-rushing duos in the league in Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. The Bills will no doubt be looking to exploit the Chargers rushing defense by featuring LeSean McCoy. The return of Denzel Perryman last week went a long way toward fixing the Chargers leaky run defense and hopefully, his presence will continue to be felt today.
On offense, Philip Rivers has cleared the concussion protocol so we will all be spared watching Kellen Clemens try to play football.
Go Chargers!
