Melvin Gordon Is Nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Week

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

This past weekend, Melvin Gordon set the Chargers franchise record with an 87-yard touchdown run in the 1st quarter against the New England Patriots. For that run and the rest of the yards he accumulated throughout the game, he has been nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award. His total contribution on the day was 132 rushing yards on 14 carries and one reception for seven yards. His day was made more impressive given that he was playing injured. Despite that injury, he helped to keep the Chargers in a game that could have gotten away from them.

His competition for the award includes the Baltimore RavensAlex Collins and the Buffalo Bills’ LeSean McCoy. You can help Gordon to win by voting here or on Twitter by using the hashtag #AirAndGround along with Gordon’s last name. So, vote for Gordon and tell your friends to vote for Gordon. Hey, it’s a bye week. What else are you going to do?
