Once again, the Los Angeles Chargers are not playing well but remain in the game against the New York Giants. In fact, after a late field goal by recently re-signed kicker Nick Novak, the Chargers hold a 10-9 lead at the half.
Philip Rivers has completed less than 50% of his passes and has generally looked bothered in the pocket and totally inaccurate, but LA has managed to avoid turning the ball over and they’ve ridden a formula of Melvin Gordon (73 total yards and 1 TD) and a strong defense (2 sacks for Joey Bosa) to success against the 0-4 Giants.
We’ll see how these teams look after halftime adjustments, but you can bet that the Giants are looking to get star WR Odell Beckham Jr. more involved than he was in the first half. He was targeted just 3 times, catching 1 pass for 13 yards. Casey Hayward has done a good job against him so far.
