The Los Angeles Chargers have released their Inactives List for today’s game against the New York Giants:
Our #LACvsNYG Inactives:
— Los Angeles Chargers (@Chargers) October 8, 2017
QB C. Jones
RB B. Oliver
LB K. Toomer
T T. Marz
TE S. Culkin
WR M. Williams
DE J. Attaochu
Korey Toomer being on this list is surprising, to say the least. He wasn’t even listed on the injury report, so either he’s picked up a late injury, or he’s - bizarrely - a healthy scratch. Whatever the case, that means Hayes Pullard and Nick Dzubnar will probably see a lot of snaps as the MIKE LB, which is a bad sign.
Jeremiah Attaochu is also a healthy scratch, but that’s not a new development. At this point, it seems unlikely that Attaochu plays another game for the Chargers.
Branden Oliver is out, which means Austin Ekeler will be Melvin Gordon’s primary backup today, which is exciting. Expect for Ekeler to be fairly involved in the gameplan today.
Mike Williams is inactive once more, but that doesn’t come as a surprise. We’ll see if he’s able to get any closer to suiting up next week against the Oakland Raiders.
