Chargers-Giants: A different kind of game preview

Hello! Not sure if you guys are aware of this or not, but I’ve recently started working on a podcast for the NFL Network that previews the games each week (except for Thursday) in a different kind of way....

Cynthia Frelund, who is probably best described as a “math wizard”, has built a system that spits out predictive analytics based upon both stats and film study (by her, by NFL coaches and scouts, and by a weird AI machine that she feeds geometric information). Her results are fairly bulletproof. She’s paired with Matt “Money” Smith, the radio play-by-play voice of the Los Angeles Chargers, each week on the Game Theory and Money podcast that I produce.

Because I’m awake and thinking about today’s game between the Chargers and New York Giants, I thought I’d direct you all to the section of this week’s podcast where the two of them (quickly) previewed the matchup between Philip Rivers’ team and Eli Manning’s team, in case you’re interested.

The Chargers-Giants game preview starts about 37:45 into it, if you want to fast-forward, and only lasts a few minutes. If you don’t feel like listening, just know that Cynthia’s machine predicted a 23-21 win for the New York Giants.

Thanks for listening!
