BFTB Fantasy Football League: Week 4 Recap and Standings

Only two undefeated teams remain while two are still looking for their first win of the season. How’s your favorite doing?

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Chargers Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Up to this point, this fantasy season has been anything but consistent through the one-quarter mark. One massive superstar has been hurt since week 1, other stars are finding it hard to get their season’s going, and rookie running backs are having their way with the top of the leaderboard at their position. A sure-thing player hasn’t been a concept thus far and, quite frankly, it’s made things a bit more exciting.

Who knows what anomaly is going to happen next? The suspense is killer.

As for the standings, Richard and Lou find themselves as the last two undefeated teams in the BFTB staff league. However, Lou has an 80 point chasm between him and Richard which is a lot of separation. Three teams stand at 3-1. This includes me, Jason, and Roger. Derrick and Daniel are sitting at 2-2 on the year while Thomas, Max, and Cody are stuck at 1-3. Aaron and Ruben are locked in the cellar with matching 0-4 records.

Week 5 Match-up Highlights:

mY BaLl ZaCh ErTz v.s. Cry Me a Rivers

158.10 - 151.56

Top Players for Michael

  • Le’Veon Bell - 34.60
  • Ezekiel Elliott - 29.90
  • Alvin Kamara - 25.60

Bad Moves

  • Mike Wallace was left on my bench and with Willie Snead putting up zero points, he ended up outscoring all three of my starting wideouts combined with 17.50 points.

Top Players for Lou

  • Lamar Miller - 29.10
  • Devin Funchess - 26.00
  • Houston Defense - 19.00

Bad Moves

  • Cameron Brate ended up having his first breakout game of the year which landed him with 18.00 points. That was more than triple starting tight end Kyle Rudolph’s points (5.40).

Mud Dogs v.s. Go Bears!

136.02 - 128.16

Top Moves for Richard

  • Russell Wilson - 29.60
  • Drew Brees - 19.02
  • Charles Clay - 16.20

Bad Moves

  • Andre Ellington had a surprising game against the Niners. He scored 19.40 points which were more than both Richard’s starting running backs combined. [EDITOR’S NOTE: I Still won, though.]

Top Players for Max

  • Aaron Rodgers - 23.06
  • Keenan Allen - 18.80
  • Jared Goff - 18.10

Bad Moves

  • Chris Johnson scored 9.30 points while on the bench and would have made this game much closer if he replaced Shane Vereen in Max’s lineup.

Top Players for Derrick

  • Jameis Winston - 26.48
  • Alex Smith - 27.32
  • Leonard Fournette - 24.50

Bad Moves

  • Danny Amendola would have been a huge upgrade over starter Mohamed Sanu as he was outscored 16.20 to 1.70.

  • Ameer Abdullah - 19.90
  • Marcus Mariota - 17.74
  • LeGarrette Blount - 16.60

  • Jordy Nelson - 23.50
  • Eli Manning - 27.72
  • Mike Evans - 17.70

Bad Moves

  • Bilal Powell blew up in Matt Forte’s absence as he put up 29.00 points which were more than both his starting running backs scores combined.

Top Players for Lou

  • Deandre Hopkins - 26.70
  • Kirk Cousins - 20.60
  • Tom Brady - 20.48

Bad Moves

  • Even with Kareem Hunt on his squad, Gio Bernard ended up being the highest scoring running back for Lou as he produced 16.90 points, just a hair over the rookie phenom.

Top Players for Jason

  • Todd Gurley - 34.50
  • Michael Thomas - 22.90
  • Seattle Defense - 20.00

Bad Moves

  • Andy Dalton went off for 28.34 points while riding the pine. Starter Carson Palmer had a reasonable 17.38, however.
