Chargers vs. Patriots Inactives: Are Stars Aligning for Bolts?

Who will we not see this week as the Chargers take on the Patriots?

The Chargers will be without starting RT Joe Barksdale again this week, making it the third week in a row that Michael Schofield will be seeing time in his place.

Joining Joe Barksdale on the inactives is DE Jeremiah Attaochu, back on the list after having a pretty decent debut last week. It would appear he has been made inactive as DT Corey Liuget makes his return to the active roster. Liuget had been having some back issues, with as well as Darius Philon had been playing in his place I’m a bit surprised to see this move made just a week before the bye.

New OL addition Michael Ola will be on the active roster after having just joined the team earlier in the week, joining Sam Tevi as the backup OL available for this game. Both are tackles by trade, which could make things interesting if any are needing to see time today.

HB Branden Oliver makes his return to the active roster, but with how well Austin Ekeler has looked I’m curious to see what the snap count will look like come the end of the game.

Let’s take a look at the Patriots inactives as well...

Not surprising, but the Patriots will be without two of their top DB’s in Gilmore & Rowe. Not to mention two forces in their front seven in Brown & Hightower. These could be big for the Chargers and the offense which has been struggling a bit to get going. The Patriots defense already hasn’t been great, without these guys hopefully we can see Rivers and the O get on track.

What do you think now that we know who will not be on the field today as the Chargers take on the New England Patriots?
