Broncos-Chargers Odds NFL Week 7: Los Angeles Favorites at Home

After opening as underdogs, the Chargers are now favorites.

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers opened as 2.5-point underdogs at home against the Denver Broncos, but that was before the Chargers came back to win on the road against the Oakland Raiders. It was also before the Broncos got their doors blown off by the hapless New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

The Chargers are now 1.5-point favorites which given that a home team is traditionally credited 3 points for being at home suggests that the Chargers are still viewed as the lesser of the two teams. Although, one could also read that as the Chargers’ home field advantage not being considered an actual advantage (which would seem to be fair).

In their first matchup of the season, the Chargers looked on the verge of getting blown out when they entered the 4th quarter down 17 points. Philip Rivers and co. would put up two unanswered touchdowns and would line up for a game-tying field goal attempt at the end of regulation. That kick was blocked and the Chargers did not get a chance at overtime.

Things have changed since then and the Chargers are deserved favorites heading into the weekend.
