“In my time with him in the last few weeks, he stops very well,” Rivers said, per ESPN’s Eric D. Williams. “He can put on the brakes suddenly. It’s not a slow lumbering to a stop. He’s sudden, and that’s even better for a big guy.”

“I know the NFLPA isn’t going to allow us to play in an environment that isn’t safe,” Slauson said. “If it actually is an issue, than I’m sure the game will get moved or postponed. I know there’s a lot of options that they’re going to have.”

That injury left many fans and analysts concerned about the talented wideout’s long-term spinal health. But true to form, Williams, bounced back as a member of the Tigers in a considerable way before general manager Tom Telesco decided to select him with the No. 7 overall pick in April’s NFL draft.

Fresh off of the team’s first victory of the season, both Mebane and the Bolts will look to continue their winning ways against the Raiders Sunday. And make no mistake, when he’s not on the field himself, Mebane will be channeling as much mojo as he can to his hometown Dodgers — who are looking to make their first World Series appearance since 1988.
