A glimmer of hope for the Chargers to stay in San Diego

John Gennaro explains how (and why) the owners of the Chargers may be able to get the extra funding that they need from the NFL to build a brand new stadium in Mission Valley.

Yesterday, there were plenty of rumors and ideas flying around about how the San Diego Chargers could get the money to fund a new stadium in San Diego and avoid moving to Los Angeles. As per usual, the smartest thing I read on the topic came from Jeff:

So, I did what I do and I started pestering people that have better things to do with their time until I got some answers on where these rumors were coming from and how real they were. Then, I started asking about how this deal could actually get done.

I’m not going to say that I’m doing a 180 and now believe that the Chargers will stay in San Diego, but I did (during the podcast) start believing that it’s more likely next week that the NFL grants the team an extension rather than having them move to L.A. next year.
