The Chargers have been plagued by injuries for multiple seasons and it seems the team is ready to lay at least some of the responsibility for that at the feet of its head trainer. There is certainly plenty of blame to go around with the offense frequently running plays that put its offensive linemen in a position to be injured and general manager Tom Telesco frequently drafting or signing players with injury histories that would suggest an inability to stay healthy.
Many fans and other commenters have been calling for heads to roll in the strength and conditioning department and perhaps they will be appeased by the firing of Collins. Only time will tell, though, if this move will do anything to keep the Chargers’ injury prone roster healthy.
