Spencer Pulley wasn’t supposed to be on the 2016 San Diego Chargers, and he might not be on the 2017 Los Angeles Chargers.
Luckily, Pulley kept alive the team’s streak of keeping an undrafted free agent rookie on the roster to start the team, but he was mostly brought in as insurance in case Max Tuerk wasn’t ready to go by time preseason rolled around.
As it turned out, Tuerk wasn’t ready and Pulley was.
Pulley wasn’t as good as Matt Slauson when filling in on the interior of the offensive line, but who was? Mostly filling in at the Guard positions, I thought Pulley was actually pretty good this season.
This morning, he was on The Tyler Johnstone Podcast with his buddy and roommate (Tyler Johnstone, who gets a paycheck from the Chargers but has yet to make it on the field), and they talked a bit about what the last year has been like for both of them:
I hope you enjoyed listening to this podcast as much as I did! It is an interesting look into the lives of NFL players away from the football field, as well as an insightful look into what is going through their heads when they’re on the field.
