Anthony Lynn Officially Named Head Coach of the Chargers

Will the new head coach be able to overcome the disastrous ownership group of the Chargers?

As was widely reported last night, Anthony Lynn is now the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers announced that the move was official via Twitter:

It has been reported that the long-time running backs coach (and recently offensive coordinator and interim Bills head coach) will seek to hire former Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley to succeed John Pagano while retaining the services of the Chargers Ken Whisenhunt.

From the Chargers’ own website, John Spanos was quoted as saying, “He’s been coaching for a very long time. There is no mathematical formula (to go by) when making these decisions. What we saw was someone who has the qualities we are looking for, and we are very excited we were able to hire him.” The obvious takeaway from that is that if there was a mathematical formula, the Chargers would ignore it because they treat analytics and mathematics like witchcraft.

Hopefully, Coach Lynn will be successful in spite of the Chargers incompetent meddling owners and the mediocre front office staff they have hired.
