The San Diego Chargers are waiving players, seemingly one-by-one, to get down to 53 men on their roster by today’s 1p.m. (Pacific Time) deadline.
According to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Dom Williams was unable to stay with a very deep WR group.
Chargers waived WR Dom Williams, source says. Rookie from Washington State a candidate for practice squad if he clears waivers.

Before this move, the team had 8 WRs on the roster. They are expected to carry 5 (or maybe even 4?) on the final 53, so you can expect a few more guys to be waived today from this group:
- Rasheed Bailey
- Isaiah Burse
- Dontrelle Inman
- Tyrell Williams
Keenan Allen and Travis Benjamin are locks to make the team. Tyrell Williams is likely to make it, as his production is seemingly what made the team comfortable with waiving James Jones last week.
If it were me, I would keep the three men mentioned in the previous paragraph along with Isaiah Burse. Then I’d start looking at WRs released by other teams to see if I could find a #5 that is better than Dontrelle Inman, who hasn’t had a strong preseason.
