Andre Williams added to the practice squad

The practice squad slot vacated by Asante Cleveland has been filled by RB Andre Williams.

Williams and Cleveland essentially traded places with starting TE Antonio Gates out with an injury. Combine this with the rumors that Gates wasn’t even close to being ready for the game I think it might be safe to assume at this point that Gates will likely be out again this week and Cleveland will be staying on the active roster for now.

None of us got a look at Williams on the field, but it looks like the coaches have seen enough in practice to keep him around just in case. Let’s hope there won’t be any more unfortunate injuries that require the team bringing Williams back to the active roster.

There is another spot on the active roster that needs to be filled as soon as Manti Te’o is officially added to the IR.
