As the deadline to get down to 53 players on the roster approaches, the Chargers have waived two more players. Michael Gehlken reported via Twitter:

Chargers have waived Kamal Johnson, source says. Team expected only to carry six D-linemen on Saturday's 53.

Defensive lineman Kamal Johnson was likely just a camp body and his release had to be expected. Tight end Matt Weiser similarly faced a tough hill to climb if he wanted to make the 53-man roster, but he is still a great candidate for the practice squad.
Weiser was a prolific pass catcher at Buffalo in college and he has the potential to be a TE2 or possibly even a starting tight end in this league, but he’s clearly not there yet. The Chargers have to be hoping they’ll be able to get him through waivers and onto their practice squad.
Perhaps the most interesting news is that the Chargers will carry only six defensive linemen on their initial 53-man roster. We’ll have to wait and see how long that number holds.
