For the 2nd week in a row, the Chargers have lost a key offensive contributor to a torn ACL according to Ian Rapoport.
#Chargers RB Danny Woodhead has torn his ACL, source said. His MRI just came back. He's out for the season. Bad blow.

This really sucks. Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead are not only very important contributors on this offense, but fan favorites. Everyone loves KA and Danny. The replay of the play Danny went down on was not as obvious as Keenan’s but it looks like that doesn’t matter. Danny will likely be heading to the IR.
The good news here is that Melvin Gordon looks ready to take on more of the workload at RB. He looked great yesterday while picking up his 1st 100+ yard rushing game. However with UDFA Kenneth Farrow and Andre Williams as the backup RB’s, I would expect the Chargers to bring in some help. 2 intriguing names that are worth mentioning off the bat would be CJ Spiller and former SDSU RB Ronnie Hillman. Both are available and both would likely agree to contracts that would fit in the Chargers’ $2.9 million in available cap space.
Speaking of cap space, with Danny headed to the IR, the Chargers are up to $20,120,474 worth of cap money going to pay players on the IR.
