Well, in a move that is surprising to absolutely nobody that has been paying attention, San Diego Chargers’ first-round pick defensive end Joey Bosa has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ricky Henne of Chargers.com reported via Twitter:
Joey Bosa (hamstring) is OUT for Sunday. Only Charger listed on status report.

From the official Chargers Twitter account, Jason Verrett returned to full participation at today’s practice:

— San Diego Chargers (@Chargers) September 16, 2016
-Bosa (hamstring), DNP
-Dzubnar (knee), FP
-Verrett (calf), FP
All things considered, while it’s disappointing that Bosa still is not able to play, we already expected that, so the real news is that everyone else is going to be available. In particular, the return of Verrett to full participation is exciting. The cornerbacks are a strength of the Chargers, but that would cease to be true if Verrett missed time or really even if he was just limited while playing.
Bosa’s continuing to miss time with a hamstring injury is as much about the Chargers playing it safe as it is anything else. The last thing they want to do is rush him back and have him suffer a more serious injury.
