Joey Bosa responds to critics in press conference

The Chargers first round pick had his first press conference today.

Joey Bosa stood at the podium today in his introductory press conference after signing his rookie deal in front of a packed house of media members ready to fling questions. If you haven't heard Joey Bosa speak before you'd think he was nervous or anxious, quite frankly who would blame him, but he's got a soft-spoken, laid-back demeanor which is actually perfect for San Diego.

Of course Bosa stood strong in his decision to stick with CAA as his representation and said he trusted their decisions. As far as keeping in shape, Bosa mentioned he's been working out 6 days a week, Sundays were his off days, while he's been away. He said:

"I didn't think it was fair to the guys out here if I was at home enjoying time off, partying...while they're here working. So I thought I owed it to them and myself  to really give it everything I had."

He continued on to mention how it was "strange to watch your own team play" during the preseason games but says he is in the best shape of his life and that if it was his choice he'd play Week 1.

When asked about his mom's comments on social media he said she was just sticking up for her son but she made a "dumb decision, like I have before, saying something she shouldn't have said on social media" but mentioned she intended to send that post as a private message and he joked "leave it to a mom to mess up on Facebook."

Here's where Joey Bosa made the PR move of the season addressing the "fans":
