The San Diego Chargers announced today that they, like most of the other teams around the NFL, have begun the process of cutting players from their roster to get to 75 players by tomorrow.

Required to trim the roster to 75 by Tuesday, the San Diego Chargers opted to get a head start on Monday. The team made eight moves, waiving six players, claiming running back Gus Johnson off waivers from Atlanta and placing Chris Watt on Reserve/PUP.

The six players waived were WR Torrence Allen, C Bruce Johnson, CB Michael Lee, LB Zach Hodges, DT Bruce Gaston and CB Greg Ducre.

Considering the team has to go from 90 players on the roster to 75, you can expect another 9-10 players waived by the Bolts in the next 24 hours or so.

The Gus Johnson signing is obviously a response to the Branden Oliver season-ending injury, and here’s an article that calls him 2015’s most overlooked running back.

Oh, and here’s a video of him racking up yards against a very poor defense:

He probably won’t be as good as Branden Oliver as a running back, but few human beings are.
