It finally happened. It’s over. Joey Bosa is a San Diego Charger. And everyone and their mother are going to have thoughts on it.
What helped the Joey Bosa deal get done? The largest upfront signing bonus installment payment in Chargers history for a veteran or rookie
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 29, 2016
Chargers compromised on cash flow in years 2,3,4 + gave Joey Bosa largest upfront signing bonus in Chargers history; SD got offset language.

Get paid, son. #Bosa

I think we have to give credit to the Chargers for doing what was necessary to guarantee that they got the player they had coveted for two years onto the team. They took longer than we would have liked, but they got it done. So, credit where it’s due.
Joey Bosa signs. Looking forward to Week 2 when he plays 50 snaps and we all ponder the meaningless of camp. Or life.

Will Bosa really be up to speed that quickly or is this going to be closer to the doomsday scenarios that were peddled by anonymous General Managers? Let’s hope Gregg Rosenthal ends up being right.
In 2015, the @Chargers earned the PFF's 5th-worst team pass-rush grade.

At OSU, Joey Bosa earned the top individual pass-rush grade in CFB.
Bosa is coming in with a very advanced skill set. Hand usage is already ++. Obviously an adjustment period but it'll be shorter than most.

It’s so nice that we can finally get excited again about how great Joey Bosa was in college and potentially can be in the NFL
they watched the game yesterday & thought, "Yeah, give oey Bosa w/e he wants" https://t.co/vzsmS4Ysi1

Did preseason performance have anything to do with the Chargers bending a bit more? Probably not, but it couldn’t have hurt his position at all.
Can't believe the Chargers signed that selfish bum whose never done anything in the league. Terrible move. https://t.co/lozXlZgmEH

Now that Bosa is signed everybody who was saying he's gonna be a bust or is a baby get in my mentions so I can get at you during the season
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) August 29, 2016
This does raise the question of how long it will take Chargers fans who attacked Bosa and his family on personal terms to embrace him as a player. My guess is it won’t take much more than one big play in the regular season. People are fickle after all.
