Well, guess today is a good a day as any to have the bad news pile on the Chargers.
Chargers DL Damion Square suspended 4 games for violating NFL substance policy. Did not test positive, source says. Missed a scheduled test.

Square had been taking a healthy amount of both 1st and 2nd team reps at DT and NT. This is not what the Chargers need right now.
Joey Bosa was supposed to come in and help the defensive line and give them better depth, we all see how that’s going. Now Square is unavailable for the 1st quarter of the season?
The team is now without 2, counting Bosa, players that were expected to get a lot of snaps. The only “silver lining” here is that Ryan Carrethers is basically guaranteed a roster spot now. They can’t afford to let him go. Hopefully they give a lot of those 2nd team snaps in the game and in practice to Carrethers and he makes the most of it.
