The Chargers made what could be the most exciting pick in this year’s draft in the 5th round when they selected Jatavis Brown.
However, there hasn’t been anything to get excited about so far, as he hasn’t played, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change this weekend.
Chargers rookie ILB Jatavis Brown (undisclosed) getting closer, but not quite back to full work. Yet to play this preseason.

It sure would be nice to see him out there, especially with the lackluster performance of the other backup linebackers. Nobody has stood out so far so it would be nice to have him out there. I saw somebody mention on twitter that when the 2nd team defense takes the field it’s like their TV went into slow motion, and I agree, nobody on that second team defense has the speed and athleticism that Brown does.
He needs time practicing at full speed and some time in a preseason game to try and be ready for the regular season. The team isn’t going to cut him, and putting him on the IR to return would be a waste, so hopefully he can get out there soon.
