That didn't take long.
The #Chargers are signing WR James Jones, source said. Another veteran weapon for Philip Rivers
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 2, 2016
With Stevie Johnson out for an unknown amount of time, the Chargers were quick to look for reinforcements. The team brought in 3 veterans today, Lance Moore, James Jones, and Brian Hartline. The team picked Jones.
I would have liked to have seen the team give the young guys more of a chance, but if they felt they needed to sign a veteran, Jones would have been my pick out of these three as well. Jones is reliable and good in the red zone. He brings in some experience from a winning organization, spending most of his career with the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rogers.
No details available yet on how much this band-aid is going to cost, but knowing Tom Telesco, it's probably a deal.
