The San Diego Chargers don’t really need any more help at Wide Receiver, but there’s also no reason to not give a guy a chance if you like him, so they claimed WR Rasheed Bailey off waivers today after he was previously released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Apparently, the Philadelphia Eagles fans fell in love with Bailey during the 2015 preseason before he was cut, spent a week in the CFL, and eventually ended up on the Jaguars’ practice squad.
This small section from this great write-up by Bleeding Green Nation helps explain the situation a little better:
Bailey showed some promise last summer by finishing with 10 catches for 100 yards and one touchdown reception. It's clear NFL teams aren't super high on his potential, but giving him another look couldn't hurt. It's not like Bailey got cut by a team hurting for receiver talent. The Jaguars have Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee, and Rashad Greene.
Before signing with the Jaguars, Bailey had workouts with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns but was not extended an offer by either squad.
“I killed those workouts,” Bailey said. “I thought one of those teams was going to sign me, but unfortunately, it was another one of those NFL growing pains and everyone goes through them.”
Bailey seems to have good size and good skills, and certainly has the hustle, but don’t count on him making the Chargers roster unless he can turn himself into a Special Teams dynamo.
