The Chargers will be sitting the following 11 players, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Included in this list are four wide receivers, a couple of which most of us have been very excited to see get on the field. Travis Benjamin has been hobbled a bit since the practice on August 5th when he was stretched on the sideline and ended his day early. Tyrell Williams, according to Gehlken, was having some leg tightness and was informed he would not be playing today.
The team playing it safe with Tyrell, to me, says they definitely have plans for the second year player going forward. Javontee Herndon sitting out also means that Isaiah Burse, who has been coming on strong over the last week or two, will be seeing plenty of snaps tonight on both offense and special teams. He stepped in with the first unit multiple times and played the slot receiver role and has additional value in the return game. I’d imagine we will be seeing him in both of these roles plenty tonight.
Jatavis Brown is another player that I’ve been dying to see in game situations, but it looks like we will have to wait another week for that. Him being out will likely mean that Nick Dzubnar and Joshua Perry will see more snaps, as well as UDFA James Ross.
Spencer Pulley has been getting some hype lately, but we won’t be seeing him either this week. With Orlando Franklin out, will be interesting to see how many more reps Wiggins and Donovan Clark get. Clark has been impressing during practice while Wiggins seems to have taken a bit of a step back from last season.
There are three players along the defensive line out, with Palepoi and Lissemore being the more noteworthy of the bunch. Palepoi hasn’t practiced since going out with an apparent knee injury during the August 5th practice. This should mean plenty of reps for Darius Philon, Chuka Ndulue and new Charger Bruce Gaston.
