Of course the big storyline today at camp was about the Chargers 1st round pick being a no-show but Darius Philon got a lot more playing time.
With Joey Bosa absent due to contractual impasse, Chargers sophomore Darius Philon works next to NT Brandon Mebane.

An ex-Charger was also coaching the D-Line today.

There were some interesting developments on the depth chart, especially on Defense.
Very interesting: Kyle Emanuel running with Ingram as the OLBs for 1st team. Attaochu running with the 2s
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Ladies and gentleman, Kyle Emanuel has jumped Jerry Attaochu on the depth chart to start camp. Emanuel's 2nd drill with starters
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Attaochu opens with second team front seven.
— The Lightning Round (@Lightning_Round) July 30, 2016
The Chargers 4th round pick Joshua Perry is also buried on the depth chart to start camp.
Jatavis Brown & Dzubnar the 2nd team ILBs right now
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Joshua Perry running with the 3s at ILB huh
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Ryan Carrethers has dropped down as well.
Joshua Perry and Nose Tackle Ryan Carrethers appear to be on third team defense today.
— The Lightning Round (@Lightning_Round) July 30, 2016
This was the line-up for the second team defensive line.
Worth noting: Lissemore playing second team DE, Square second team NT. Palepoi rounds out second team DL.
— The Lightning Round (@Lightning_Round) July 30, 2016
The Safety group got a lot of attention. Here was the order:
For those asking about the Safety groupings, so far it's:
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
1: Addae/Lowery
2: Stuckey/Phillips
3: McCoil/McDonald
Adrian Phillips got another interception piling on to his already impressive minicamp.
Adrian Phillips interception in 7-on-7. He picks up where he left off. Two INTs, two PBUs on final day of minicamp. Chargers' third safety.
— Michael Gehlken (@sdutGehlken) July 30, 2016
Though Phillips got the lone turnover, there were a pair of Safeties who looked very good today.
Adrian McDonald almost had a pick on good coverage from McCoil
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Mettenberger flutters a deep out, ball hangs, McCoil jumps route and drops pick six. Nice read by the kid.
— The Lightning Round (@Lightning_Round) July 30, 2016
I'm gonna be honest, this McDonald/McCoil duo is the most exciting Safety tandem to watch. McCoil almost had a pick 6
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Pagano running McCoil as the box safety, love it
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Towards the end of the day Dexter McCoil got some snaps with the second team defense.
McCoil now getting some snaps with the second team D taking Stuckeys spot on first series

One constant: Every RB has had two hands through traffic. Good to see.
— Jerome R. Watson (@SkinnyDuzIt) July 30, 2016
Jatavis just locked down Inman. His coverage skills on display right now
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
This 12 personnel group is so dope. They're bouncing from unbalanced to empty, and everything in between.
— Jerome R. Watson (@SkinnyDuzIt) July 30, 2016
Rookie Donavon Clark just put Sean Lissemore on the ground. NICE!
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
Mager is having a hard time keeping up with Tyrell Williams. Coaches letting him hear about it.
— The Lightning Round (@Lightning_Round) July 30, 2016
Not sure what's worse today...punting or backup QB play. Both are agonizing.
— The Lightning Round (@Lightning_Round) July 30, 2016
Not a great deal of urgency or tempo but a lot of instruction and assurance in assignments. I'll take that.
— Jerome R. Watson (@SkinnyDuzIt) July 30, 2016
Travis Benjamin with a highlight reel one handed grab
— Garrett Sisti (@GarrettSisti) July 30, 2016
43 out here doing the damn thing. Planted foot on toss out of broken I and had clear lane to the tub.

The lone injury of the day (that we know of).
