I am excited about the 2016 San Diego Chargers. Or, at least, I want to be excited about them.
I think they’ll be good! Maybe not great, but certainly a lot better than they were last year when they finished 4-12. Tom Telesco has had a mostly-great offseason, and Mike McCoy did the smartest thing he’s ever done as the team’s Head Coach by duplicating the second smartest thing he’s ever done as the team’s Head Coach: Hiring Ken Whisenhunt to run the Chargers’ offense.
But, in typical Chargers fashion, the storylines of the offseason have been mostly negative for San Diego’s team. Between the stadium, Eric Weddle, and now Joey Bosa... the Chargers can’t seem to get out of their own way.
I vented my frustrations about this in a podcast this morning, and even went game-by-game to tell you how I think the season will go for McCoy’s squad in the upcoming season.
Enjoy!
