Jason Verrett could be the NFL's best CB in 2016 - Nathan Jahnke
Verrett will be celebrating his 25th birthday in a few days, and has a decent chance to at least keep playing at the same level he’s been performing at. Elite cornerbacks like Josh Norman, Richard Sherman, and Darrelle Revis have all reached the age of 28. While there is a chance they could improve, the more likely option is that they will take a step back, which would widen the gap between Verrett and others.
10 QBs who could crack the fantasy QB1 ranks - Tyler Loechner
Rivers has always been an interesting fantasy option. He scored the 12th-most fantasy points last season despite his best target (Keenan Allen) missing half the season, and his other best target (Antonio Gates) serving a suspension to start the season. Even with these hindrances, Rivers threw for 4,792 yards, second most in the league behind Brees. Rivers is currently the 10th quarterback being drafted, so he’s not exactly a steal when it comes to ADP-to-expected-finish, but his numbers check out across the board. He should be a solid tail-end QB1 this season, especially with Allen and Gates both on the field at the same time.
Chargers appear to avoid injury bug with Danny Woodhead, end minicamp a day early - Eric Williams
The Chargers appeared to avoid a scare when running back Danny Woodhead had his left ankle rolled up on by a defensive lineman during team drills on Wednesday. Woodhead remained on the ground for several minutes as San Diego's head trainer James Collins examined his ankle. Woodhead ultimately got up and walked off of the field on his own. Chargers head coach Mike McCoy ended practice early a few plays later.
Chargers handling Joey Bosa's absence the right way - Eric Williams
"Sure, it's an opportunity to continue to get better, to learn and be with your teammates," Telesco said. "It's not so much about everyday practice reps, but everybody is here and this is what we do.
Eugene Monroe released by Ravens - ESPN.com
"My understanding right now is that teams are inquiring about Eugene," Harbaugh said. "And when you're in that kind of a situation and there is a possibility of those kinds of things happening, you're pretty much obligated to pull back and not practice a guy."
